Go Contemporary with New Art

After months of construction and renovation, the new twin-building complex of Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art opened, or rather reopened, last week.

By the old Maritime Services building which had been donated to the museum by the New South Wales Government, a new and modern annex, the Mordant Wing, has been built. Internally, both old and new buildings had undergone work and there is easy and seamless movement between the old sandstone structure and the new annex.

Interest in the reopening of the Museum of Contemporary Art, its name amplified by the addition of Australia, was evidenced by the huge crowds viewing its exhibitions during its opening weekend.

Close to the ferry wharves and train and bus stations at Circular Quay, the museum is a short walk away. Entrance is free.
